Jim Anderton for Mayor!
"Christchurch 2021 has endorsed Jim Anderton for Mayor" said Darel Hall, chairman of the Christchurch 2021 candidate selection committee.
"The people's choice will be clear this election and we are confident Jim Anderton will be the people's mayor. We have strongly aligned campaigns. We will work with Jim Anderton to get him elected as mayor as well as a good team with him" said Christchurch 2021 Councillor Chrissie Williams.
"Christchurch 2021 was very pleased when Jim Anderton approached us to discuss his potential candidacy. Jim Anderton is one of our city's best known and loved politicians, a champion of the people, a fighter for fairness and an advocate for access and opportunity. Jim has a proven record in parliament and around the city for acting with integrity in delivering positive initiatives that put people and their needs first" said Christchurch 2021 Councillor Chrissie Williams.
"He's just better for the people" said Christchurch 2021 Councillor Yani Johanson. "He is a person of substance, credibility and mana – all the attributes we need in a mayor. We are proud to have Jim Anderton providing leadership for the campaign to change Christchurch", said Christchurch 2021 Councillor Yani Johanson.
Christchurch 2021 Chair Megan Woods has been appointed to liaise between the campaign teams.

A board member for 14 years, Linda has a Community Service Award and is on Keep Christchurch Beautiful and Civil Defence. The environment and safe, happy communities are concerns for her.

Islay lives in Linwood. She loves the area and wants to restore the community and environmental values that once had Christchurch residents proud to live here.

Judy is a current Community Board member for the Riccarton - Wigram ward. She is involved in a number of other organisations for youth, education and the wider community.

Julie is a Correspondence School liaison teacher and has served as a deputy and acting principal at a local school. She wants to represent an area she has been part of for 40 years.

Karolin is an educator in the Human Rights Commission, a JP and a current community board member. Concerns are gaps between those who have and do not and the environment.




Tracey is a dynamic, energetic woman with several years of community involvement. She is willing to stand up for the underdog and speak for those who cannot speak up for themselves.




Jasmin has strong experience working in the health sector. She is one of our youngest candidates and possesses a vibrant personality and a positive attitude.
